Challenges

The year of 2014 is almost here, have you been thinking about what to write on your New Year's Resolutions? Well, I have, for a great deal actually. I started this blog as a pledge to myself that I will read more books and share reviews with other readers. It is exciting to see how everyone thinks about different books and I love it so much, more than I have ever imagined.

For my New Year's Resolution, I wish to find more ways to push myself in reading. Here are the reading challenges I have signed up for 2014. I will be updating my progress periodically.

2014 TBR Pile Reading Challenge
hosted by Bookish
2014 TBR Pile Reading Challenge challenges participants to read a certain amount of book from their TBR piles/lists/mountains during 2014. Only books released in 2013 or earlier are qualified for this challenge.

For this challenge I am aiming at:

1-10 - A Firm Handshake
11-20 - A Friendly Hug
21-30 - First Kiss
31-40 - Sweet Summer Fling
41-50 - Could this be love?
51+ - Married With Children

I'm hoping to finish some series I have wanted to read for a long time through this reading challenge. Here is the tentative list:

1 - 4) The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare
5 - 7) The Inferno Devices Series by Cassandra Clare
8) Graceling by Kristin Cashore
9) Fire by Kristin Cashore
10) Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore
11 - 12) Penryn & the End of Days Series by Susan Ee
13 - 15) Legend Series by Marie Lu
16 - 18) Divergent Series by Veronica Roth
19 - 20) The Grisha Series by Leigh Bardugo

2014 Standalone Reading Challenge
hosted by IceyBooks & Dizneeee's
2014 Standalone Reading Challenge
2014 Standalone Reading Challenge aims to promote standalone books and challenges participants to finish 15 MG/YA novels that are released in 2014. Companion novels are considered standalone for this challenge.

While 2014 TBR Pile Reading Challenge takes care of my series reading, I'm hoping 2014 Standalone Reading Challenge can help me discover some new gems in the horizon, especially debut contemporary novels. It is hard though nowadays to encounter a totally standalone book, but I will try my best :) Let me know if you have any good suggestions and wish me luck!
